I have no fear of depths and a great fear of shallow living.”    Anaïs Nin

Talks

If you twist my arm (or, alternatively, press my palm with silver) I can give a talk and/or slide presentation at your club, organisation or festival.

Subjects include: The Shipping Forecast, How to Take Photos at Sea, Single-Handed Sailing, and Madness at Sea. Talks are usually 40-50 minutes long, accompanied by a slide show, with a questions & answers session at the end.

Recent nautical clients include the Society for Nautical Research (South), the Hallberg-Rassy Owners Association, the Chipping Norton Sailing Club, and the Stoke Gabriel Boating Association. I've also given talks at the Liverpool Literary Festival, the Hay Festival, the Aye Write! Glasgow, the Oxford Literary Festival, the Althorp literary Festival, and the Ilkley Literature Festival. I've appeared on the Radio 4 Today programme, the Steve Wright Show, BBC Breakfast, Ireland AM and the Today Show in Australia.

Message me via the contacts page for details of fees and availability.
